John Saunders (Director) In addition to his position as Director of See Change, John is also Director of Shine, the co-ordinating organisation of the See Change campaign. John has an extremely hectic schedule and is a member of various mental health organisations such as the Mental Health Commission, EUFAMI, Mental Health Reform and the Independent Monitoring Group for A Vision for Change. When he is not busy spending time with his two young sons, John likes to relax by writing poetry and his poems have appeared in numerous journals and magazines. John also published a book with his own collection of poems called After the Accident (published by Lapwing Publications Belfast). He even wrote a poem about the day See Change broke the Guinness World Record!
Kahlil Thompson Coyle (Campaign Manager) When Kahlil isn’t chasing after her two little boys or wishing she was hiking or travelling, she can be found at the helm of the See Change team as the Campaign Manager. She has worked with Shine – Supporting People Affected by Mental Ill Health for over 8 years and is passionate about reducing the stigma of mental health problems. Prior to entering the mental health voluntary sector, Kahlil worked at the United Nations in Vienna at the IAEA as an Analyst. Dolores Kavanagh (Marketing Assistant) Dolores is the Marketing Assistant for See Change. She works on the See Change campaign as well as other Shine programmes Director, John Saunders. Dolores has been working with Shine and See Change since May 2010 and prior to this worked mainly in the finance sector but is glad that she has moved away from this area! Dolores enjoys going to the cinema and travelling but only wishes she had the time (and money!) to travel more. Sorcha Lowry (Communications and Partnership Officer) Sorcha coordinates See Change's communications strategy and works with our partner organisations on events and stigma-challenging initiatives. Sorcha joined the team in September 2011 from a background in public affairs and campaigning, having most recently worked with Headline promoting responsible and accurate media coverage of mental health issues. While she'd be delighted to chat about any See Change query you may have, the West Wing, Paris and getting cheap flights would be her Mastermind topics!
Hazel Whelan (Campaign Officer) See Change Campaign Officer Hazel Whelan is the Projects Assistant for Shine and has worked for the organisation for three years. She works with the National Projects Manager on the Ar Nglor Community Mental Health Advocacy project and the many other ongoing projects. She has a Psychology Degree from Trinity College Dublin. She also has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin and a Masters Degree in Marketing. Niamh Mongey (Projects Assistant) Niamh assists with all See Change projects and events. She graduated from DCU in 2010 with a BA in Journalism and began her work with See Change in May 2011. Challenging stigma and changing perceptions of mental health problems is something she has always had a passion for- along with building an impressive collection of colourful tights.
